Terms of Service (TOS) for StorySphere

Welcome to StorySphere, a platform operated by StorySphere ("we," "us," or "our"). StorySphere allows users to share stories and memories by pinning them on a public map and creating user profiles. By accessing or using StorySphere (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("TOS"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use StorySphere. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

By using StorySphere, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. User Accounts

  • To use certain features, such as pinning stories or creating a profile, you must create an account. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information during registration.
  • You must keep your account credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
  • You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account.

3. User Content

Content Ownership:

You retain ownership of the stories, memories, photos, or other content ("User Content") you post on StorySphere. By posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting StorySphere.

Public Nature of Content:

All stories and memories pinned on the map are publicly viewable by default. User profiles are also publicly accessible unless otherwise specified in your privacy settings. Do not post content you wish to keep private.

Content Guidelines:

You agree not to post User Content that:

  • Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights or privacy rights of others.
  • Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code.

We reserve the right to remove or suspend any User Content that violates these guidelines or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Use of the Service

You agree to use StorySphere only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these TOS.

You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code of StorySphere.
  • Use automated tools (e.g., bots, scrapers) to access or collect data from the Service.
  • Interfere with the operation of StorySphere or other users' enjoyment of the Service.

If StorySphere integrates with third-party services (e.g., Google Maps), you agree to comply with their terms, such as the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.

5. Intellectual Property

  • StorySphere's software, design, trademarks, and other materials are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.
  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of StorySphere without our written consent, except as permitted by these TOS.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using StorySphere, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the app's settings or support.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account or access to StorySphere for violations of these TOS, illegal activity, or at our discretion with or without notice.
  • Upon termination, your license to use StorySphere ends, but provisions regarding User Content, intellectual property, and liability survive.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • StorySphere is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or appropriateness of User Content.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of StorySphere. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, if any.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of StorySphere, your User Content, or your violation of these TOS.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • These TOS are governed by the laws of the UK.
  • Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the UK, except as otherwise required by law.

11. Changes to the TOS

We may update these TOS from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or within the app. Your continued use of StorySphere after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated TOS.
